For this project I made a video of nature and faith-based themes to reflect on God's attribute as a merciful creator and on chapter 55 of the Quran. I recite the first quarter of the chapter in the video.
The verses explore God's creation as a mercy, and how through it we should see signs of His existence, ponder, and be grateful for the chance to live in this world. I recorded different parts of creation and used calm clips that hint at the themes being recited. I wanted viewers to hear the recitation and keep reflecting on it after the video ends, which is why the pacing is slow.
This project is a visual meditation on faith. It compares the stressful parts of a student's day, like homework, studying, and school, with the calm of prayer in a peaceful space.
I wanted to show how much stress a heavy workload puts on a student and how tense it gets trying to finish everything. Because of those stressful times, prayer becomes easier to engage with and gains a new layer of meaning.
For this project, I conducted an interview with my mother, a Bosnian refugee, to explore her experiences and perspectives on faith and identity.
The interview delves into her journey as a refugee and how her experience has shaped her understanding of her identity.
Coming soon.
